Margot's new telescope is utterly fantastic. We are having a ton of fun with it, having looked at Saturn and Titan a few nights ago. I tried a photograph through the eyepiece (hand held) last night. The result is better than I expected. You can click on the image to see the full-sized image.

Very cool. I'm surprised it came out so well too, although I admittedly know nothing of photography.

Well the key to getting a picture that is sharp is getting enough light from the object you're capturing onto your recording medium (flim, or the CCD sensor) before you shake the camera enough to make the image blurry. With the moon through a telescope eyepiece, the full moon hurts the eye to look at. So to the extent that the telescope can stay still, and my hand stays still, you can get a pretty quick snap.
