What on Earth is that?

Margot had soccer goalie-camp today. The boy and I sat and watched it. After a bit he and I wandered over to the snack counter and I bought him some candy. When the camp was done, Margot wanted a Blue Raspberry candy ring. It did this to her tongue -- she was most excited.

Ewww, Margot! Gross!! :)

I have a picture of Aunt Bridget that looks a lot like that. I'll see if I can find it for you!

So Margot is a goalie?

That is Kate's favorite position too. She even has a nick name: Bulldog. Because she is so tough. She leaps on the ball, even as a girl is about to kick. The coach said that at practice she got kicked in the face and got right back up.

Man. Both my kids are way more tough than their old man. I guess that is props to Patricia.

Margot must get the goalie bravado from her dad. I've always maintained that the most essential quality in a goalie (above agility, reflexes, premonition of where the ball is going, field awareness, etc.) is a complete disregard for bodily harm.

She took a really good goalie clinic, and I hope it makes her excited about the position. She thinks she wants to try basketball, which would be fine, but soccer is really more fun for me.

I think I'm going to get back to indoor soccer -- goalie in indoor is insane and I love it!
